St. John’s Fortress
For the best panoramic views of Kotor and its bay, hike up to St. John’s Fortress (San Giovanni Fortress). The steep climb (1,350 steps) is challenging but rewards you with spectacular views over Kotor and the surrounding mountains. Along the way, you’ll pass ancient fortifications and the Church of Our Lady of Remedy.

Lunch by the Water in Perast
After your visit to the islet, return to the town of Perast and enjoy a relaxing lunch at one of the waterfront restaurants. Conte Hotel Restaurant and Trattoria Rosmarino offer fresh seafood with stunning views of the bay. Try local dishes like grilled fish or octopus salad.
Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks
Take a short boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Škrpjela), a man-made islet with a beautiful baroque church. The small museum inside displays maritime artifacts and votive tablets. Enjoy the serene atmosphere and learn about the legend of the island’s creation.
Evening
Stroll Along Kotor’s Promenade
Take a leisurely stroll along Kotor’s Promenade, a peaceful area offering beautiful views of the bay. Enjoy the scenery as the afternoon light casts golden hues over the water and mountains. Stop for a coffee or gelato at one of the cafes along the waterfront.
Dinner in Kotor’s Old Town
End your day with a traditional Montenegrin dinner in Kotor’s Old Town. Konoba Scala Santa or Restaurant City are great options for local dishes such as seafood risotto, grilled meats, or the famous Montenegrin lamb.
