The Ponte Vecchio, a medieval bridge lined with shops, adds to the city’s charm. With its world-class museums, vibrant markets, and delicious Tuscan cuisine, Florence captivates every traveler with its timeless beauty and cultural significance.

1-Day Itinerary

Morning:

Piazza del Duomo & Climb the Duomo

Start your day at Florence’s most iconic landmark, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Duomo). Marvel at the magnificent facade and explore the Baptistery of San Giovanni and Giotto’s Campanile. For the adventurous, climb the 463 steps to the top of Brunelleschi's Dome for a breathtaking view of Florence.

Piazza della Signoria & Palazzo Vecchio

Head to the Piazza della Signoria, Florence’s political heart, where you’ll find a collection of statues, including a replica of Michelangelo’s David. Visit the Palazzo Vecchio, the city’s town hall, where you can explore the interior rooms or simply enjoy the stunning square and its open-air sculpture gallery, Loggia dei Lanzi.

Afternoon:

Lunch : Osteria Vini e Vecchi Sapori

This small, traditional osteria serves authentic Tuscan cuisine in a cozy, unpretentious setting. The menu changes daily, offering classic dishes such as pappardelle al cinghiale (pasta with wild boar) and bistecca alla Fiorentina. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, as the restaurant has limited seating but is incredibly popular for its genuine flavors and warm service.

Uffizi Gallery

After lunch, head to the Uffizi Gallery, home to one of the greatest collections of Renaissance art in the world. You’ll see masterpieces by Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raphael. Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera are must-sees. Be sure to book your tickets in advance to skip the long lines.

This is the perfect spot for late afternoon photos, with the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and the Arno River all visible from this vantage point. You can relax here for a while, soaking in the beauty of the city from above.
