1 Day Itinerary
Day 1: Geneva
Start your adventure in Geneva, Switzerland’s cosmopolitan city on the shores of Lake Geneva. Stroll around the Old Town, visit the iconic Jet d’Eau fountain, and explore the United Nations headquarters. Don’t miss the Patek Philippe Museum if you’re a fan of watches.
Take a short train ride to Montreux and visit Château de Chillon, a stunning medieval castle on the lake.
Day 2: Montreux to Zermatt
Hop on a train to Zermatt, one of Switzerland’s most famous mountain resorts, nestled at the base of the Matterhorn.
Spend your day exploring this car-free village. Take the Gornergrat Railway up the mountain for stunning views of the Matterhorn and surrounding peaks. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Swiss meal at one of the local restaurants.
Day 3: Zermatt to Interlaken
Depart Zermatt and take a scenic train journey to Interlaken, the adventure capital of Switzerland, located between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.
Spend the day wandering through the charming streets of Interlaken, or if you’re up for adventure, try paragliding or take a boat ride on one of the lakes. In the evening, relax and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 4: Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald
Take a short train ride to the Lauterbrunnen Valley, famous for its dramatic cliffs and waterfalls. Visit Staubbach Falls and Trümmelbach Falls, the latter being a series of waterfalls inside a mountain.
Continue to the picturesque village of Grindelwald. From here, you can take the cable car up to First for incredible views and exciting activities like the First Cliff Walk or a zip line ride.
Optional Excursion: For a truly unforgettable experience, take the Jungfraubahn to the Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, known as the “Top of Europe.”
Day 5: Interlaken to Lucerne
Head to Lucerne, one of Switzerland’s most beautiful cities, located on the shores of Lake Lucerne.
Spend your day exploring the city’s charming old town, crossing the iconic Chapel Bridge, and visiting the Lion Monument. If you’re interested in Swiss history, visit the Swiss Transport Museum.
Optional Excursion: Take a boat trip on Lake Lucerne or ride the world’s steepest cogwheel railway to Mount Pilatus for stunning views.
Day 6: Lucerne to Bern
Take a train to Bern, Switzerland’s capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Wander through Bern’s medieval old town, explore the Zytglogge clock tower, and visit the Bear Park. Don’t miss the impressive Federal Palace and the tranquil Rose Garden, which offers panoramic views of the city.
Optional Excursion: Visit the Paul Klee Museum or the Einstein Museum if you’re interested in art or science.
Day 7: Return to Geneva
Return to Geneva via a scenic train route that offers one last chance to soak in the beautiful Swiss countryside.
